ANYWAY: Expanded Vessel
The ANYWAY series is a body of work that showcases designs that can be interacted with by the user.
‘Expanded Vessel’ is a functional object that can be reconfigured using 10 stackable geometric parts. Each part is made from expanded cork, a 100% natural and biodegradable waste product from the corking industry in Portugal. The cork is darkened by the process of compressing the pellets under heat and pressure, which also expands and forms a solid block by releasing the natural resins present in the material.
Each ‘part’ measures 50mm tall when stacked, connected together using the shape of each part. The parts can be stacked in multiple positions or combined in different quantities to form different heights. The vessels are available in either pre-set configurations (listed below) in small (3 parts), medium (4 parts) or large (6 parts) or each part can be purchased individually.
