Collaborative fabrication & design
Alongside my own work, I help other artists and designers to help design and prototype one off pieces, small production runs and bespoke installations.
I take on projects at a variety of scales, from one-off artworks through to bespoke furniture production runs. I can provide both practical fabrication services in addition to digital 3D modelling and visualisation.
In the studio here in Brighton I have a fabrication setup that extends to mould-making, casting, CNC routing/laser cutting as well as 3D printing - specialising in combining these techniques in unconventional ways with a wide variety of materials. I also work with other specialists in a variety of fields from metalwork through to textile design.
If you have a project in mind then get in touch to discuss.

Material Research
Materiality is always the first thing to consider in approaching any project. I place an emphasis on sourcing sustainable alternatives, working with recycled material, sustainable composites and completely organic materials.
I can suggest suitable materials of your project based on its intended use and aesthetic, provide samples were necessary and also research and test new approaches to how the material can be manipulated for any given use.

CAD & Design Development
Translating sketches or rough concepts into more clearly defined three-dimensional digital drawings allows early stages of the design to be developed without wasting materials.
This process also enables visuals to be produced, offering a clearer picture of materials and surface finishes before committing to real-world materials. Having a digital version of your design will also allow me to advise potential design amendments before committing to prototyping.

Fabrication
I have a fabrication workshop in Brighton, where I use a variety of processes and techniques. The workshop has the following:
CNC machining (full 8’ x 4’ sheet timber cutting and processing)
Laser cutting/engraving
3D Printing (FDM/SLA)
Silicone mould-making and casting
I also work closely with a wide range of other local independent fabricators should your project require it.
